Something Fresh and New!

First of all I have to apologize to you my followers. I have been so preoccupied with what has been going on in my own life these last couple of months, that I have not been feeding encouraging words into you all. Please forgive me. This blog is just as much a ministry to me as serving in ministry my local church and I am fully committed to serving you all with God's encouraging word.

It hit me like a ton of bricks this week that I had not been serving you all properly after speaking with 3 different people this week and sharing with them the same testimony and God given word. This blog is important to help share a positive word from the Lord who loves us so much.

Now for some very exciting news! Look to see "Salty and Bright" Podcast coming in 2011. People keep talking about so I am going to make it happen! This news among other things leads to the topic of discussion for today.

Something Fresh and New!
Have you ever gone to the Farmers Market and purchased a fresh piece of fruit? From the first bite you can taste the freshness of the fruit! Well, my question to you is are you asking and seeking for God to do something fresh and new through you. Are you fresh fruit? Our God is so full of so many new things that He has for us to do and how those things will impact others lives for His glory, so why wouldn't you ask and seek God for how He wants to use you to fulfill His plan.

Doing something new means stepping out of you comfort zone!
Doing something new means stretching beyond your limits!
Doing something new means having faith in something that you cannot see!

Will there be hindrances along the way? Absolutely! Some of them you know on a first name basis! (Someone just laughed) However, I now see that dealing with those persons is a test and we have to refuse to fail!!!

Doing a new thing is challenging. The road will seem long, rough and crooked. But remember Luke 3:5, "... The crooked roads shall become straight and the rough ways smooth". (NIV)

Notice that "roads" and "ways" are plural. Sometimes when the things become hard and challenging we begin to look for a different way to get things down or a different road to take. But to no avail. But Jesus can do something amazing. He can make the crooked roads straight and the rough ways smooth. He is like a bulldozer. Can you picture it! He can bulldoze our obstacles so that we can continue to do what He has commissioned us to do.

So get up and then get down on your knees and begin to ask and seek God about the something fresh and new that He is wanting to do through you!

Much Love,
Jamison

So In Love!

Hello All,

Okay, before I start typing this blog I need to take a moment and make a disclaimer. I am not talking about a fella before I get comments on who is he. Even though it is a He.

His name is YAHWEH!

God is so amazing you all! As I sit here typing this blog the tears have come rushing to my eyes already just thinking about how wonderful my God is. Yes He is mine! ( I can be a little possessive.)

There is absolutely, positively no one like Him! The more I learn about Him the more I realize just how big He is. But on top of all the wonderful things He does, promises He keeps and storms He sees us through, the most amazing thing about our God is how much He loves us.

Sometimes I literally cannot understand how He loves me so much. Even knowing everything about me, He still loves me. Even when I am not giving Him my very best, He still loves me. When I have hard times and I cry out Lord I believe help my unbelief, He still loves me. How does He do it?

What a mighty, awesome, forgiving, strong, amazing, and most of all LOVING God we serve.

Do you love Him?

Much love to you,
Jamison

Honest Friends

Hello all!

First I would like to say in my behalf that there were "no" misspelled words in the last post. Wrong word usage however, yes.

But the reason I am writing this post is because something hit me as I read the comments. That only a true and caring friend will tell you the truth about yourself. Only a friend will hurt you through their honesty and help you become a better person at the same time. People who always have something nice to say are okay but after a while you need someone who can be straight up honest with you and have your best interest at heart and that person is a true friend.

I have a number of people who are acquaintances but only a few whom I consider a friend.

Do you ever think about how God called Moses His friend? Moses was honest with God. When he had a concern or fear he took it straight to God. He did not beat around the bush. (Excuse the hidden pun.) When God wanted to destroy Israel in the wilderness Moses reminded God of the promise He made to bring them into the promise land. Only a true friend will remind his friend, even if the friends is God, of His word.

Are you a true friend to those you call "friends"? I hope that you are.

Thank you Shannon! :)

Much Love,
Jamison

Amazing Possibilities

Hello Dear Friends,

My Pastor preached an amazing message 2 weeks ago and I wanted to share with you the topic and a few of my thoughts on it. It is still blessing me this very day! I am hard pressed to think of a message that has touched my heart and life like this one has. His message was entitled, "This is the year of amazing possibilities"! His scripture reference came from Joshua 17:14-18. He said it is time for us to take the mountain and cut down the trees (obstacles) that are in the way. In the way of what? In the way of your progress, growth in Jesus Christ and the amazing possibilities God has for your life!!!

Guys all I can say is that God can do some amazing things in our lives if we yield to Him and His perfect will. Will there be moments when we fall short and lose our way? Yes. But you have to repent, pick yourself up and get back on track.

Your heavenly Father loves you so much and He has had amazing things in store for you long before you were a twinkle in your mother's eye. Remember Jeremiah 29:11, "I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.". The word "think" is in present tense. Meaning He is currently thinking about you. Right now at this very moment God our Father has you on His mind!!! And what is He thinking of? I have know idea but I like to think that He is thinking about the amazing possibilities He has in store for us IF we choose to live for Him.

Some translations say "future" instead of "expected end" which I love because even though God already knows what our future has in store He is still presently thinking about it and the amazing things that are to come. I don't know about you but just sitting hear and typing that gets me all stirred!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

Our God is so amazing Himself why wouldn't an amazing God have amazing possibilities lined up for His children! If that is not enough to make you shout Hallelujah well I don't what else to say! So I will just say, Hallelujah again!

Be blessed my dear amazing friends!
Much Love,

Time To Worship

This Labor Day weekend has been a wonderful no laboring weekend for me. Even though it did include some housework. So far this weekend I have been able to have more time to just sit and worship our Lord. The past 2 days have been great so far! He has truly poured out His love on me and for that I cannot say thank you enough.

The reason for me writing this post today is to encourage you to take a little extra time to just sit or knell or layout before the Lord and tell God how awesome He is! Tell Him how amazing He is! Tell Him how great He is! Our God is a wonderful God and He loves to hear the praises of His people. I truly believe that when our praises go up blessings come down! There is no one like our God! No one can do the wonderful things our God can do! No on can love us the way our God loves us and He showed us just how much He loved us by sending us His only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins and resurrecting Him from the dead that we may have eternal life with Him. How wonderful, awesome, amazing, glorious, loving and great is our God!

Much Love,
Jamison

Are You Bumping Into God

Good Morning! Okay guys this morning I had a revelation. While vacuuming my upstairs my and cleaning out my home office, Gizmo the Wonder Dog kept walking into me, bumping into me or standing right in the very spot I was working in. Then when I was walking down the hall way I stopped quickly Gizmo the Wonder Dog walked right into me! Then it hit me, are we walking so close to Jesus Christ that we bump into Him.

This daily Christian walk has its ups and downs. We have to stay close to Jesus everyday but are we staying close enough to Him that we bump into Him? You maybe asking the question, how can I stay that close to Jesus? We stay that close to Him by reading His Word and not just that but studying it to increase our understanding and knowledge. Asking for wisdom is another way of staying close to Him. In James 1:5 it says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

So how close are we really walking to Jesus Christ?

Jamison

When People Disappoint Us, Part 2

I want to begin this post the way I began the last one. God will never disappoint you. He is always there with you and He is your biggest supporter. God promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Joshua 1:5)

In hearing from others pertaining to the post from yesterday our wonderful Lord and Savior put something else on my heart when I was leaving work today. Sometimes people disappoint us because we have placed them on a pedestal in our own minds and when they falter we are devastated because we expect so much from them.

The thing is, they probably did not ask to be placed on our perceived pedestal. We did that of our own accord because of how we see them or want to see them, even if we truly know they are not that person.

We, especially us ladies, have to be so careful not to place people in the position we think the should be in. I say especially us ladies because sometimes we have the tendency to think that since so and so is nice, saved, looks good and has at least a little vision then that person is the Gold Standard to base everyone else from. Then when we hear about or see that person making a wrong decision we act as if they did something horrible to us personally.

Please understand there is nothing wrong with thinking good of others but we must remember that they, like we are just dust.

Much Love,
Jamison

When People Disappoint Us

Let me start by saying that God will never disappoint you. There will be times when you will feel that He is not there or that He has forgotten all about you and your situation. But He says in Joshua 1:5 "...I will never leave you nor forsake you." When God gives you a promise He keeps it. His word is true!

So how do we deal with people who disappoint us? First, we must remember that they are only human. You may want to say that they should know better or that they should know the difference between right and wrong however my friends they are still human. You may want to say that they profess to be saved. All of those things may very well be true however we must remember we are all dust. And the thing about dust is that it will go which ever way the wind is blowing when it is dry and life less.

Imagine a desert that is dry and baron. When the wind blows across that land the dust and sand go wherever the wind takes it. Some of us have dry areas in our spiritual life that we have not addressed or have not fully given over to God. So when situations arise we go which ever way the wind is blowing in that desert land.

So when people disappoint you do not take it personal. There is just a desert land in their life that is needing the healing water of Jesus and the planting of the Holy Ghost in their lives.

Jamison

Hitting Rock Bottom

Hello all! It has been some time since I wrote you and all I can say is I am sorry.

Today a thought (one of many) came to my mind. Many time we have heard people say they have hit rock bottom. We may have said it ourselves! When people say they have hit rock bottom they usually mean they have nothing left, all is lost or they have know where else to go. But my thought this morning is that for us as Christians the rock we should be hitting is Jesus.

If our house tumbles and everything we have worked for is gone, the rock we should come to is Jesus. Like a rock He is strong, sturdy and durable. That is why He tells us to depend on Him and to build our house on Him instead of on the shifting sand so that we can withstand the storms of life.

So the next time you have the thought that you have hit rock bottom or you hear someone say that they have hit rock bottom, just remember that the rock is Jesus and He can meet your every need and help you build again.

Be blessed my friends,
Jamison

This Morning

Hello All!

I hope each of you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. It was great having my family over. Daddy even did some odd jobs around the house for me. Gizmo the Wonder Dog had a fit with every firecracker the kids on the block set off. Poor dog! He is now somewhat sleep deprived. Is that possible for dogs?

Anyway today in my morning devotion in Proverbs I was struck by how sluggish I felt. Tired around the edges my Mother would say. Then I read Proverbs chapter 6 and how we cannot not be sluggards even when we are tired we have to be like the ant and keep working.

Now my mind goes to the Proverbs 31 woman. To all my ladies out there. We need to focus more on being like her. Even when we think we can't take another step we have to turn on our light before it is day and be about our business and most importantly God's business. When you study, not just read, Proverbs 31 you will wonder, how can she do all of that? I wonder about quite often! Pace yourself, take time to write down the things you want to accomplish for the day, then pray about what needs to be done and then get to eat. This month take the time to read the 31st Proverbs every other to everyday. Take notes, pray and seek God in helping you transform into that type of woman. She is the ultimate first class lady! (More to come on that.)

Take the time to read a chapter from Proverbs everyday. God inspired there to be 31 chapters which is perfect for us to read one chapter everyday.

If you are seeking wisdom start by reading God's Word. Stay in the Word!

Much Love,
Jamison

What Do You Need?

Hello All!

Yesterday after a conversation with a dear friend of mine. She asked me, "What do you need"? I don't know what made her think to ask me that but I was in need of prayer. Specifically regarding discipline. As I wrote yesterday, I need to get up earlier in the morning in order to add waking hours to my day in order to get more things done. So, I then asked her what did she need and she mentioned guidance. So we prayed for each others needs before getting off the phone.

I later had the thought of how often do we talk with someone and not ask them, "What do you need"? People are in need all around us. They have spritual needs, financial needs, they need encouragment or maybe just a good laugh.

So I am asking you my dear friends, "What do you need"?

Much Love,

Desire, Drive and Discipline

Hello All!

I wanted to share with you all something a dear woman shared with me today. She said that she is seeking God to help her with the three D's. Desire, Drive and Discipline.

She talked about the things she desires to do for God and to have in life for herself and her family. She talked about increasing her drive. Working towards those goals everyday. Then lastly she mentioned the discipline. This week she started getting up at 4am to have devotion and to start her day early.

While she was telling me all of this I began to think, I like the sound of that! There are things I desire to do for the Lord and desire to have. I need to work on achieving those goals a little bit everyday. Even if only for 30 minutes a day. But most of all I need to work on the discipline. The only thing getting me out of bed at 4am is Gizmo the Wonder dog needing to go outside. LOL!

Anyway, we all have to focus on the desires, drive, discipline in our lives. The only way we can achieve those 3 things day in and day out is by keeping God first.

Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you".

Daddy-Daughter day

Hello All!

As you know this was Father's Day weekend. Two weeks ago my father told me what he wanted to do on that Saturday leading up to Father's Day.

We went to Waffle House for a super breakfast! We walked out stuffed. Then Dad wanted to go to the farmer's market. This was the perfect thing to do right after our heavy breakfast. All though it was hot enough to fry an egg on my car the walk around the market turned out to be the perfect remedy for walking done our meal.

We enjoyed it so that Dad said we should go every 2 weeks. Then we walked over to the Flea Market. Neither one of us had ever been to a flea market before so it was almost over whelming for this shopper to see so many neat things. Most of what Dad and I bought was for Gizmo the Wonder Dog!

After the Flea and Farmer's Market Dad wanted to walk around the mall and he actually sat in the shoe store with me while I looked around. Can you believe it!!! (I did not buy anything. Not my kind of store.) Finally, I took him to pick up his truck. It was a great day!

Our Heavenly Father wants to take time with us as well. He is actually waiting on us to devote time out of our busy schedules for Him. When was the last time we sat down without any distractions. Just the two of you. Take the time beginning today to spend time with your one and only God.

Love,
Jamison

Something New

Just when you think you are inthe grove of life. At least somewhat. God has something new for you to do. It maybe for many years to come or it maybe for just a short period of time.

Something new was just added to my things to do list. This particular project may only be for a few months it is no less important to my heavenly Father.

The same is for you my friends. Whether you have been given a lifelong ministry task or a task that is for a couple of weeks or somewhere in the middle, give your all to that task and seek God to give you the wisdom and strength to complete that task for His glory.

May god bless you and keep you in all that you do. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Do you know...

Do you know what you are supposed to be doing at this very moment for God's Holy kingdom? What has He given you to do? Are you preparing yourself to do what He has placed on your heart? Are you searching His word and praying for His will to be done in your life?

We ALL have a purpose for being alive one more day. According to Matthew 5:16 we are to let our light shine. Do not fill bad if you are given a flashlight, another has a spot light and yet another has a lighthouse. What matters is that you shine your light, ..."so that men will see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven".

What will people say about you?

On last Tuesday I went to a funeral for the mother-in-law of a dear aquaintance. At the funeral one of the deceased ladies friend spoke about her. What struck me about what her friend said about her shocked me.

The woman began talking about her friends unique ways of doing things and planning activities for them. She was very involved in an organizations of girlfriends who were like sisters to each other because some of them had no biological sister(s).

Then as the woman kept talking about her friend and we in the congregation laughed. It all of a sudden hit me that the woman seemedd to be discribing me. WOW! Then my next thought was, what would my friends and others say about me at my funeral.

What will people say about you?

It is up to you to treat everyone right with the love of Jesus in you coming out of you in your conversation and actions. All you can do is what God commands us to do. People are going to love and people are going to dislike you. But what really matters is what God will say about you.

Will He say well done good and faithfull servant or will He say depart from me I never new you?

I want to hear well done! Well done! Enter into the rest of the Lord!

Are we really doing well my friends? Are we really?

Father, in the name of your Son Jesus Christ, I pray that You help us to do well. do be obidient to Your call, Your will, Your word and Your way. Lord touch my sisters and brothers ready this post to give their all to You so that when they stand before You at the gates of Heaven You will say to them, Well Done. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Organization Woes

Okay Y'all!

I have given myself 6 weeks to go through every nook, closet and cabinet in my house to purge what is no longer of any use to me, thrash what needs to be trashed and organize what I want to keep.

Years ago I purchased a book on organizing your home. You may think that is crazy but underneath this fun exterior is a perfectionist that I am trying to tame. As a closet perfectionist my frame of mind is, if I can't do it absolutely right and be successful then I just won't do it. Therefore I bought a book on organization and my Mom graciously gave me a label maker.

The dilemma is the book says to label my linen closet. Now, maybe I am crazy but if you can see the sheets and towels are on 2 different shelves then why do I need to label them. Sometimes we can take things just a little to far.

Why the push to be organized? It is simple. First, our God is a God of order. If everything has a time and a season then the tangible things should also have a place. Second, I want to be the best Proverbs 31 woman that I can be and that includes a home that is orderly. But, I don't think she had has many closets as I do. LOL! Anyway do you all have any organization tips for me?

FYI- I am not getting rid of my shoes!!!!!

My confession

OK people. I have a confession. The word of God says that confession is good for the soul. So here it goes! I live at Kroger. I write my list, check the store ads and cut coupons and still inevitably forget that one item that I cannot do without.

Monday I forgot vacuum bags. AHHH!!

So I go back to Kroger yesterday, walking as fast as I could in my heels trying to get to the filters. Now just so you know I went in to get ONE item, the vacuum bags. Then while standing there I see Hepa filters and begin to wonder, "Do I need that too?"?

So I pick up the box and read the back of it and then the Holy Spirit came in with common sense, "You don't know were it goes in the vacuum so why buy it". So I put the box down turnaround and YAM! The discounted/ discontinued shelves are behind me. So onto crisis number 2. Of course I love bargains like anyone else. It is so hard for me to pay full price for anything. So I got a pack of 3 Plugins for $1, yes I needed them because the house cannot smell like I have a dog. Even of Gizmo is the best dog in the world! And I bought a bag of cough drops for $.50 which I left at home while I am coughing here at work.

Anyway that is my confession. You maybe asking if I forgot anything else ands at this moment it is not coming to mind but just wait.

What is so great about our loving God is that with all of our issues He loves us. With all of our mess He loves us. Oh how He loves us so. He loves you just the way you are. How can we not serve and God like that.

Much Love,
Jamison

God's Open Door Policy

Revelation 3:8
"I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name".

Hello my dear readers! All day today the thought of God placing before me an open door has been going through my mind. WOW! Just give that thought some time to sink in. God knows our works! He sees all that we do for Him and for the Kingdom of Heaven. He sees what we do for each other and for perfect strangers. In seeing all of that He decides to open a door for us. A door that NO man can shut! WOW again!

Think of a doorman at a fancy hotel or restaurant. They see you walking up to the building and open the door without having to be asked to do so and without you having to lift a finger to push or pull it. God is the perfect gentle man and he has opened that door just for you. He sees you walking on that straight and narrow path that is hard and sometimes very lonely. He sees the blood, sweet and tears of stress along the way. What lays beyond your doors threshold will be different from mine but we both have to make up in our minds to cross over it and go inside.

So my friends, brothers and sisters lets make the choice to go inside the door. Because God may have exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or think on the inside.

Be Blessed,
Jamison

The Clean Air

Hello All! It has been over a week since I last posted and all I can say is please forgive me.

This morning while walking to the building adjacent from mine for breakfast I took a deep breath. The air had a cool crisp feel like a fall day and the usually pollen filled Memphis air had been cleaned by the steady rain fall. It then hit me guys today is a new day. Even with the rain coming down I felt all of a sudden revived, refreshed, renewed all those positive "re" words!

God said in His word that mercy is new every morning. That should be just as refreshing to us as the cleansing rain! I am so grateful to God for fresh mercy everyday. So whatever it is that you have not gotten done or started, today is a new day to begin again. This is the day!

Pay Attention

Hello All!

The new memory verse for the month of May is now up!!! I hope that you got the one for April. If not it was Hebrews 10:35-36.

The verse for this month came from my quiet time this evening reading the book of Hebrews. Guys we have to pay careful attention to the word of God. It has to be written on the tablets of our hearts. His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths. In order for us not to drift away we have to stay in it at all times. You may ask how can I do that all day long. Well, all I can do is give you some ideas. The easiest way that I can think of is to read a verse or two before going to work or starting your day. Listen to God's word in the car either through song or preaching. That way you will hear His word at the beginning and end of your work day.

Be blessed my friends and don't drift way.

Much Love,
Jamison

A Quick Hello

Hello All,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post for this week. How are you doing? Really! We all have things ups and downs going on in our lives. So I just want to pray over you.

Father, in the name of Jesus. Thank you for loving us.
Thank you for blessing us to see this day. Thank you
for friends and fellowship. Father, I ask that you
first forgive my sister or brother of every sin. Have
mercy on them. Let your favor be upon them. Lift the
downcast head and heavy heart. Help them to become all
you have created them to be. All this I pray in Jesus'
name.

A New Dedication

Alright it is 2:19AM and I have not fallen asleep yet. However Gizmo the Wonder Dog is snoring next to me. For almost 2 hours now I have been listening to worship songs and singing to my awesome God. I had to jump on to tell you, now is the time to rededicate yourself to the one who created you. Your heavenly Father has a work for you to do on this Earth. We get caught up in our daily lives (yes I am guilty of that too) and doing the things people want us to do (guilty of that too) so we end up putting God's work on the back burner to everyone and everything else.

Today at now 2:24AM I am making the commitment to put God on the front burner where He belongs. Is there a burning desire He has placed in your heart? Is there a task He has given you to do that He is waiting on you to start. He will bless you and give you the strength and the endurance to do it. God will never leave you nor forsake you. As you read this post commit with me that you will do what God has for you to do and that you will not wait until tomorrow but that you will start today.

Father, in the name of Jesus I pray. Please be with us your children as we go about doing your will. Help us to be salt and light everywhere we go showing people the way to You. Keep our feet on the path that leads to You. Help us to do all that You have given our hands to do. Help us not to forget that it is all for Your glory. For You are Holy, Holy, Holy. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Much Love
Jamison

Is Your Power Out!

Ok! So this morning I turned on the tv to watch QVC before starting the day. It was storming to beat the band outside and I could hear the hail hitting my window. Then in the blink of an eye my power all of a sudden went out. The rain and hail got louder so I picked up Gizmo, who is very afraid of storms like many dogs, and went downstairs to be on the safe side.

With my power off for most of the day, I was bored out of my mind so I began dusting. Which means I was really bored. LOL!!!! Even Gizmo looked sad and frustrated because he was holding it. He will not go outside in the rain regardless of how long it has been since he last handled business. Silly dog but I love him.

Then it hit me. When we are out of God's will and living contrary to His word our power is then out. We pray and it seems like our prayer is not getting through. We call ourselves living the life but what comes out is not Christ like at all. We speak but our words have no substance to back them up. We tell our mountain(issues) to move but it stays right there. Why? Because we have lost power. We are no longer connected to our power source.

How do we get reconnected? First, repent of the things in your life that you are doing that are not pleasing to God. Make a new start! It is never to late. Second, get into God's word. Read it everyday, even if it is just a couple of verses. What is in you will come out so word in word out. Third, do for others. When you take time to help others your brain is not focusing on you or your issue. Hmmmm.

Get reconnected to your power source Jesus Christ. Through Him we can do ALL THINGS!

Love Ya,
Jamison

Are You An Ant?

Ok. When was the last time that you thought about the parable of the ant.

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer or ruler,
Provideth her meet in the summer, and gatherth her food in the
harvest". Proverbs 6: 6-8 KJV

Yesterday a lady asked how could she pray for me. First I was shocked that she asked and then stumped by what I needed to ask her to pray for. Not that I don't need prayer but that nothing stood out. So, I said, "Pray for God's guidance in my life". So the lady prayed for me and that was that.

Then this morning I was listening to Pastor Adrian Rogers with Love Worth Finding, I am so glad they still play his sermons, and he was talking about prosprity. Then he went to Proverbs 6:6-8. WAMM! Right between the eyes that scripture hit me. Not that we don't need God's guidance we all do. But we should still be like the ant. Working and making preperation for the future (fall and winter) while it is summer

Are you getting ready for your future. We need to get about doing what we know we are supposed to be doing without sitting around and waiting for a guide, overseer or ruler. If we are saved then we have Christ in us, then all we have to do is, Get To It and Do It! So ask yourself, am I an Ant!

Much Love,

Today Is....

This is the first day of the rest of you life!!!
It'll be alright!!!

These are lyrics to a song I heared on the radio. How true are these words!

Whatever you are going through know that today is a new day and that God is with you in all that you are going through. The great thing about God is that he is already at your tomorrow while being with you today.

I know at sounds cliche but you have to put your faith and trust in Him and watch God work it out for you.

The Importance of Down time

I am late submitting this blog. It was started while I was on a business trip to Phoenix, AZ.

Right now I am in Phoenix, AZ on a business trip. This trip has been great for me. I walked downtown to get my nails polished. (while getting a bad polish change the person poured out their woes and needed encouragement. Always on call for someone.) But the walk was great. Ok. I know I am the last person to talk about having downtime. Yes I am either doing something or needing to do something or thinking about doing something. All of the time! But getting away gave my mind a break.

Our minds need downtime. God can give us peace of mind but we have to slowdown or stop for a moment and accept it.

Living Beyond Yourself

While I have a brief moment during lunch today, I just want to share with you a thought I had on yesterday evening. Live beyond yourself!

We get caught up in so many things that hijack our thoughts and actions keeping us from doing and being all that God wants. You may be think that nothing is keeping you from doing God's work but maybe you should ask yourself am I doing what he wants to the fullest.

We get caught up in finding Mr. or Miss Right (by the away they could be right under your nose) while Jesus Christ is waiting with a heap of blessings in store but we are only focusing on the things we want, not on Him and building a deeper relationship with Him. We want promotions and increase but what are we doing for God and His kingdom to be deserving of His promotion and blessings.

It is time that we live beyond ourselves. Live outside of our small mindedness and shallowness. Get out of your box!!!!! There is so much for us to do and so much that God wants to bless us with. The sky is the limit!

Be Anxious for Nothing

Proverbs 13:12 KJV
"Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life".

Ok everyone, I am sure you, like I, have been anxious for God to answer a pray. We wonder if the Lord hears us. Which He says in His word that He does. God does not have a cellphone were He hits the ignore button when we call on Him. But we do have to wait for Him to answer. We must not let anxiety about the situation over take us. Even when your heart is sick, down cast, while you are praying for what you are hoping for, remember that your desire is on the way and when it comes it will be the tree of life to you. It will bring you joy and happiness but most importantly it will be God's will for you.

It is the weekend

Hello All,

I am so ready for this weekend I don't even know what to do! Right now I am at play rehersal for our annual Singles Ministry play, but all I can think about it sitting on the couch with my dog Gizmo. Can't Wait!!!

Our God is so funny guys. One day I actually said, "Lord if I can't go on a date can I at least have a dog"? 5 days later I had Gizmo. One of the quickest answers to prayer I have ever had. LOL!! I guess He was like no problem. LOL!!!

What funny stories do you have about our wonderful God?

Big God, Big Job, Big Blessings

Hello All!

When was the last time you thought about how BIG our God is? Really! The fact that the "...Earth is His footstool". Isaiah 66:1 That He is Alpha and Omega the Beginning and the End. The depiction of His throne room in Revelation chapter 4 is like WOW!

Why am I bringing up this point? Because we need to meditate on the fact that since our God is such a big God then He also has big things for us to do. Remember little becomes MUCH!!! So whatever God has given you to do please don't sit on it because you think it is to small to matter do it! Therefore however you feel about your God given job remember He has actually given you a Big Job to do.

I have a sign hanging by my desk that says the, "The Lord is my real boss". So since my Big God is my boss then he must give BIG PROMOTIONS! He says in His wonderful word, "Promotion comes neither from the east, nor west, nor south." Psalm 75:6. (Also read verse 7) Promotion comes from God! So is the work that you are doing for God, even if you think it is small, worthy of His promoting you? Are we giving our all? HMMMM!

So what is the Big Job our Big God has given you?

This Is Only The Begining!!!

How awesome is our God!! He exceeds all of my expectations!

While typing this first blog I am feeling completely overwhelmed by God's favor on me. ( Faith And Virtue Openly Rewarded) My prayer for each of you who are beginning this journey of becoming saltier salt and brighter lights, is that you and I will give ourselves over to God completely and watch Him do great things through our lives. In Jesus' name, amen!
