When People Disappoint Us, Part 2

I want to begin this post the way I began the last one. God will never disappoint you. He is always there with you and He is your biggest supporter. God promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Joshua 1:5)

In hearing from others pertaining to the post from yesterday our wonderful Lord and Savior put something else on my heart when I was leaving work today. Sometimes people disappoint us because we have placed them on a pedestal in our own minds and when they falter we are devastated because we expect so much from them.

The thing is, they probably did not ask to be placed on our perceived pedestal. We did that of our own accord because of how we see them or want to see them, even if we truly know they are not that person.

We, especially us ladies, have to be so careful not to place people in the position we think the should be in. I say especially us ladies because sometimes we have the tendency to think that since so and so is nice, saved, looks good and has at least a little vision then that person is the Gold Standard to base everyone else from. Then when we hear about or see that person making a wrong decision we act as if they did something horrible to us personally.

Please understand there is nothing wrong with thinking good of others but we must remember that they, like we are just dust.

Much Love,
Jamison

Good Evening! As I was reading this blog, the scripture ROmans 12:3 (NLT) came to mind, "Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us." We must too remember this for our brothers and sisters; many of us do tend to "block" out the flaws of others while placing them on a pedestal. Everytime we do this, we're just seeting our own selves up for failure. We must continue to strive, live and hear from God and not be so eager or weak in our emotions/feelings. With just a mustard seed of faith, this too shall pass...be blessed my sisters and brothers:)
